Impressions under surveillance: felt a little like a suspected shoplifter (with my eye on the light-reflected glass jewels perhaps). It took some time to relax and really look at the installation; but once I did, I think I had an increased awareness of the whole space of the gallery, seeing everything in it as part of the art work.
ReplyDeleteyes, why do we get nervous when we are being looked at? the jewels were for the taking, however, I did have a near theft in the gallery, so perhaps this was the seed of the idea...
